In 2021, Easton C of E Academy was successfully awarded the School of Sanctuary accreditation from City of Sanctuary UK. Schools of Sanctuary are a network of schools across the UK who have pledged their commitment to supporting the thousands of young people seeking sanctuary in the UK. Such schools are awarded this accreditation when they successfully demonstrated that they have implemented three key principles for creating a culture of inclusion while also raising awareness of refugees and asylum seekers.
In order to gain recognition, we developed a bid which helped show that:
We are committed to being a safe and welcoming place for those seeking sanctuary; and
We help our pupils, staff and community understand what it means to be seeking sanctuary
Learn more about Schools of Sanctuary on their website here. For any questions on this latest recognition, please feel free to contact the school office and ask to speak to the Head of School, Clare Welbourne.
Now that COVID rates are high in Bristol we are asking parents and all visitors to the school to wear masks when visiting school or talking to staff in the playground. Please do not attend school if you have symptoms or have had a positive test.
