Term 6

We’ve been very busy in Term 6. In Science we have been investigating how the shapes of solid objects made from some materials can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching. During our topic work we’ve been finding out about how families had fun in the past. A visitor came in to tell us about toys she played with in the 1940’s. We then played with some of these toys. We loved playing with the hobby horses and quoits.  It was really fun.

Term 4

Year 2 had a wonderful day making a healthy tomato and vegetable sauce. We learnt how to peel, chop and cut vegetables. Next, we added our ingredients into the pan and cooked the vegetables remembering to give them a stir. Finally, we got to eat our delicious sauce with pasta. It was very yummy.

Year 2 have had a very busy and exciting term. We have been having a wonderful time making mobiles in Design and Technology. We have been practising scissor skills, learning to tie knots and working with a partner to create a mobile. We are really proud of our designs.

To start our Science topic all about living things we had some very special visitors come into our classrooms on Monday. We were so surprised to find guinea pigs and rabbits in our classrooms. We loved looking after them for the day, we even go to give them lots of cuddles.

Term 3

Year 2 have been learning the story of ‘Amisi and the Fig’. Our teachers gave a great performance of the story, and we were even able to try some figs. Some of us liked them, but some of us weren’t so sure!

Term 2

Year Two have loved learning all about what makes Bristol great. We have been learning about Isambard Kingdom Brunel and even became him for the day by designing our own railways. After our walk over the Clifton Suspension Bridge we were so inspired by that we have been busy creating our own bridges as a home learning project. Year Two had a fantastic trip to the S.S Great Britain where explored the ship, took part in a workshop and even got dressed up. We want to go again.

Term 1

We have had a wonderful start to Year 2. We have settled well into our new classes, discussed our class rules and created self-portraits. We have been enjoying reading stories and creating artwork to transform our book corners. We have loved going into the woods where we have worked together to build dens and been on a bug hunt.
